Tonight, I made a snow angel.
She was soft and oh so pretty.
And though the moon was hidden,
Her face was lit by lights from the city.
I felt bad to leave her out in the cold,
So I sat outside and held her hand.
I told of life and love and laughter,
We spoke longer than I planned.
Hours passed and still I spoke on.
Never did she say a single word,
But looking into her eyes,
It was clear that she had heard.
Finally before the cold did me in,
I kissed her hand and held her tight.
And a favor I did ask of my angel,
Simply that she watches over you tonight.
